Tips To Get Your Natural Perfumes & Colognes Go The Distance.....

Who doesn’t love smelling great, which is why we wanted to share some tips for getting the most out of your natural perfumes and colognes:

1. Moisturise First

Ideally use an unscented oil based moisturiser to hydrate the skin.

Once the oil (cream, whatever you decide to use) is absorbed apply your natural perfume or cologne as usual.  Dry skin won’t hold a fragrance so well, but moisturised skin can hold your fragrance up to 30% longer.

2. Layer Your Fragrance

It’s a traditional way to enhance your favourite, but it does work.  Try using a body wash or bath soak in the same fragrance family, then follow your shower with a beautiful body oil, in a matching scent, before you go finally apply your favourite fragrance.

3. Don’t Just Apply To Pulse Points

Pulse points are great activators for your natural perfume or cologne and they tend to be warmer so emit a stronger waft or scent initially.  But applying only to pulse points may also cause your fragrance to break down faster.

In addition, fragrances rise, so you are much likely to smell your scent throughout the day if you include an application to the lower part of your body such as the back of your knees.

4. Keep Your Perfume Out Of Direct Sunlight & Heat

Heat and light cause the delicate top notes to break down and disappear quickly even whilst in the bottle, so by the time you spray your natural scent, you’ve already lost some of the aroma.

5. Don’t Rub Your Wrists Together After Applying

Yes, its actually true!  Rubbing the perfume on your skin will quickly break down the delicate top notes and make your natural fragrance disappear more quickly.

There is so much beauty in natural perfumes or colognes, so love them for what they are.

Natural perfumes or colognes are never going to have the staying power like a synthetic  scent or fill a room like a synthetic  perfume or cologne, but that is part of their charm.  Natural perfumes and colognes are gentler, more complex and more of a intriguing personality...you just need to get to know them!
